Why is a guy who grew up a rich kid with a Kenyan father and Southern White mother (no ties to being a slave whatsoever) lecturing Northern Whites regarding the Civil War when it was our ancestors who fought and died in the Union Army to free the slaves?

Is Obama kidding or what? Yes, Senator Obama, let’s have a discussion about race in America and then maybe you’ll understand why you are in absolute freefall against John McCain in States like New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana and Michigan. You ripped a scab off of a wound that we didn’t deserve to have inflicted in the first place.

I couldn’t agree with you more - It was a strongly thought provoking speech, spoken with conciseness and honesty - (that is of course my personal view) -
Lexi you sound exactly like one of those ‘class divide’ Labourites we have here in England - Obama may well be a Democrat - but were I an American I’d vote for him - he gives credence to the hope that there is still decent human kindness in the world today. (In case you wonder I am a fully paid up member of the British Conservative Party).

Is it the fault of Barack Obama that Hilary and her campaign strategy team have chosen to throw every lie and insult in the book at Obama rather than discussing policy. I just wish the American media would push as hard at Clinton, with the number of serious questions she seems not to want to answer and voters are really concerned about, starting with her tax figures.

The attack against Barack Obama with regards his Pastor and I don’t know anyone who can be held responsible for what there Pastor may or not say, I know I can’t! - the lies even continued in the last few days, even claiming Barack Obama had been present at one of the so said sermons, unfortunately Obama was in Miami speaking at a conference the same day, one New York newspaper had to print an apology today! when I questioned the source of this smear, there answer was we must have got the wrong date.

Barack Obama’s speech was “Straight From The Heart” - no script writers here, or a script to read from that Hilary would need to make any step in office. Barack Obama looked every bit and sounded like a True President in Waiting.

Ratings in freefall? that may be currently against McCain and Obama is still ahead of Clinton, but the blame lies at the feet of Hilary with her complete negative campaigning which is as said is the case with current polling figures, the real reason the fight between the two Democrats instigated by Hilary has been putting off so many voters and destroying the Democratic Party and its chances in November’s Election. The Grandees of The Party must also carry some blame for not telling Hilary and her campaign team to STOP!

If you want to quote real polling figures look at the latest respected Forbes polling released yesterday and with Democrats Barack Obama is ahead in every question asked against Hilary.

The voters want Change and they have seen Together they can bring it about, no more Dynasty and the nasty politics of the past. Let’s just wait and see.

jaybs - what a well thought out reply - I agree with you - from my own point of view I had decided some time back that Obama is a uniter and the ‘Harridan Hillary’ (my own name for her) is most definately a divider.

It was interesting that Hilary chose to find time on Wednesday to visit Michigan to press for the Re-Vote, to change the rules that she agreed, why because it does not fit her self interest.

Now we find out that the ten wealthy Democrats have offered to pay for a new presidential primary in Michigan — all have ties to Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Five of the donors are listed on Clinton’s campaign website as among her major fundraisers. All 10 have contributed to Clinton’s presidential or Senate campaigns or the races run by former president Bill Clinton, according to federal data compiled by the non-profit Center for Responsive Politics.

The Michigan re-vote donors — include New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine, Baltimore Orioles owner Peter Angelos and financier Roger Altman — have offered to put up $12 million to pay for a new election in June. It is so good how the Rich love to stick together, I’m sure the Lobbyists will throw something in as well, how helpful!!

jaybs - I don’t know whether to laugh or cry!
There will be some Democrats shouting ‘foul’ others supporting - As I said H is divisive - on the other hand, were this a Republican candidate all Dems would yell ‘foul’ - In fairness we get the same here between Labour and the Conservatives, it gets a bit more complicated when you get the Liberals invariably siding with Labour against the Conservatives. My guess is once they become a Politicians, they think they are somehow above the people who voted for them, and are worth more than the voters who put them there….

I still have enough hope that we can change their mindset, and jog their memories as to why exactly they were ever elected in the 1st place.

If the H supporters don’t succeed, then H can always turn to the ’sob job’ again….

It never fails to amaze me how low Hilary will go in this desperate last stand, it makes you wonder if she is slowly accepting defeat, but will still do everything to destroy Barack Obama. If Hilary destroys Obama’s chances with her smears and lies along with dividing the Democrats it will allow her to stand in four years time!

Hilary has the Rich Friends and Lobbyists of Washington who still support her, but has she any idea of what Real Life and Voters lives are like? - Yesterday Bill announced he will do a find raiser, have your photo taken with him and a reception for $2,300, I’m sure all those throughout the USA who can’t even afford health care and those who have to do two jobs just to survive and then the ones who have lost and are losing their homes with the mortgage crisis will want to be part of this movement!
