Have just been to the bank to pick up some dollars for my impending trip to Florida to visit my girlfriend (two weeks in the sun with nothing to do but relax and enjoy some time with my better half; it’s a hard-knock life). Anyway, I walked into the bank, made my way to the cashier, paid in some cheques, and then promptly fell over (ok, not quite) when told the exchange rate was 1.79!
Hmm, perhaps I should have listened to my girlfriend when she told me to exchange at 1.86 a few days ago…

good news - people who live in the real world, rather than political communications, will know that this is just what exporters require.

It’s not so good when you’re exporting yourself on holiday
